Tuning
A piano should be tuned every six months in order to keep the instrument at the correct pitch (A440) One of the secrets of successful piano tuning is to turn the tuning pins as little as possible. By tuning a piano at six monthly intervals the instrument will never be far out of tune and the correct pitch will be maintained.
Our Piano Technicians are able to carry out everything from a minor repair to a full renovation. Each of our Piano Technicians has over 25 years experience and can tune a well maintained upright piano by ear in 45 – 60 minutes.
We cover the whole of South Wales including Cardiff, Newport, Chepstow, Cwmbran, and Abergavenny and our tuning fees are very competitive. We are able to set up a reminder service to keep you informed when your piano is next due for tuning.
Upright Pianos £65
Grand Pianos £65
Piano repairs generally fall under one of these categories-
Regulating
This should generally be carried out every five years, and involves re-setting measurements within the action and keyboard movement, as well as making any adjustments to the pedals if necessary. Correct regulation will improve the playing quality of your piano, so that all notes feel and respond the same.
Minor Repairs
These repairs cover jobs which can be carried out on site. Replacing strings, repairing action parts and resolving sticky key issues.
Renovations, Reconditioning and Casework re-polishing
These jobs would normally require the piano action or entire instrument to be taken into our workshop.
Call Out Fee £50
This is only charged on the rare occasion that a piano cannot be tuned due to its condition. The Piano is examined and a full report given.
